Urban Streetwear brand King Apparel launched in 2003 across 20 stores in the UK, with the King/New Era 5950 Caps. The following year saw UK Grime rappers Crazy Titch and Sway featuring in the King's ad campaign in RWD magazine. Selfridges quickly jumped on the trend and featured the brand in their streetwear department - by this time a full collection was imminent.
In 2006 King Apparel was available across Europe with their first denim styles and their trademark ‘connect hoodie’ featuring in their collection.
The brand is heavily influenced by the music scene, helped by the support of Plan B and Dubstep DJ/producer Plastician, who joining the team in 07. The most notable collabo was a one off range of Defy tees for Chemical Records in 2009.
In 2008 Plastician held a King Apparel event in London that included live performances by Joker, Virus Syndicate, J2k and Wretch 32.
Last year saw the introduction of their limited edition Starter Snapback Black Label collection - Kings are the first UK brand with the coveted Starter Black Label premium affiliation. BIG
